I attended my first ever Rotary meeting.  I went with Mike Ferguson who helped me get sponsored by the Pensacola Downtown Rotary.

When I arrived at new world landing downtown Mike took me in and signed me in as a guest.  He then walked me around introducing me to many members including the president Mr. Jerry Maygarden.   Next we made our way to a very good buffet and sat down and I spoke with some very nice people at my table about the trip.  Once we finished dinner the meeting began and we stood up and did the 4 way test along with a prayer and the pledge.  They had someone they called “Mr. Sunshine” introduce all the guests(myself included) and told some pretty funny jokes.  He then turned things over to our guest speaker State Senator Mr. Don Gaetz who gave a good speech before he had to catch a plane.  After the meeting many Rotarians came up and wished me luck on the trip, and that was the end of the meeting.

I really did enjoy attending the meeting.  Everyone I met was so supportive of my trip and extremely nice!  I look forward to seeing how the meetings are held in France!
